Greetings and Salutations

Hi!

 

I'm Erik. I live here in Nashua NH. I've been learning and reading about Tarot since I was 14, but I can remember being fascinated with them since I was younger than that.

 

I sort of came here when a Facebook friend *waves to Lady Amythyst* came here and posted that she had. Having been unaware of this site, I figured I would check it out. Thank you Lady Amythyst for the tip, this place is awesome.

 

One of the things which I am certainly interested in myself is performing readings online. My primary profession is technical support/IT, including web page design. I have performed readings for friends via Yahoo Instant Messenger, web based chats and IRC (Internet Relay Chat). I have also worked on devising Excel Spreadsheets and databases (including SQL) which allows me to perform the readings using real cards, then create a printable page for the querent that can be accessed by them via a website, which would include keywords, and my own interpretations of what the cards indicate, plus, in the case of the spread I use, the synthesis of each position as indicated by the paired cards (one from each deck).

I had to stop readings a while, because my decks got destroyed. I have a new deck, the Samurai Tarot.

 

I am slowly familiarizing myself with it. It's awesome to look at, but it's not speaking to me yet.

Sorry to hear your decks were destroyed.   I suggest Craigslist or Ebay to help you find your favorite decks (either used/new). 

For your new deck, do you hold the deck or keep it close to you while you are not using them?  Sometimes you just need to infuse your energy into the deck before it will begin working for you.  Let me know if that helps you.  Good luck.

I've been considering it carefully. Meditating on it. I have also not been in a properly contemplative state of mind. I will get them tuned to me, and I to them.

 

As far as replacing the decks, that will come once I have found employment again. That is the priority for me right now.
