Tarot for the 21st Century!
Tarot, Birth Cards, and You
Keys to Empowering Yourself
By Bonnie Cehovet
A Review by Mark Reed
This latest book by Bonnie Cehovet is true contribution to the Tarot Community. This volume is a treatment of Birth Card Pairs. It not only lists and describes the pairs, but also informs the reader on how to use Birth Cards as a spiritual technology for personal growth. Birth Cards represent our life path-its resources and challenges. “Each seeker is an individual, making their own choices through free will. How they respond to what is in their path is what gives their life direction. The better we understand our Birth Cards, the better we understand ourselves. The better we understand ourselves, the better choices we will make.”
The book uses the system of calculating Birth Card Pairs that was developed by The Tarot School (http://TarotSchool.com ). However, it does not stop at teaching the reader how to calculate their Birth Pair and then describing them, but goes deeper, figuring out if the cards are functioning for you or blocking you.
Each of the cards comes with questions to ask yourself, to see if the card energy is functioning for you; and affirmations to restore balance. Meditative Card Journeys are also provided to deepen your understanding of the cards and to heighten your personal relationship with your birth cards. In the back of the book you will find a colorful and fully illustrated quick reference guide. It is lean volume at just over 160 pages (with the reference guide). Providing the necessary and useful information with very little filler.
The narrative is done in a relaxed and supportive style that is easy to read but is still detailed and informative. This book is an excellent addition to any Tarot library, whether for the individual practitioner that wants another tool of self development or for the tarot professional who wishes to provide added value and depth of meaning to their reading and counseling.
The book was illustrated using the Tarot Lovers Tarot and was published by Schiffer Publishing.
