Hi, I have being a member of ATA for few months now, giving one card readings through their site and loving it! :)

Hello y'all! I'm so glad to see folks here. I'm trying to stop by more but I just take on too many projects. :)

I'm glad to see the ATA is now connected with the TG. My membership with ATA began in 1999 when I was grandmothered in as a Certified Tarot Master and Instructor. I've been a speaker at two ATA events, and have always appreciated their contribution to the Tarot world.

Mimiraj, glad you are enjoying the FTN. I think it's a really good thing too.

Katrina, thank you for your kind words. Of course, the ATA no longer does certification. I'd love a chance to talk to you about the ATA's changes and growth since you first joined.

I actually teach my students to focus on the one card readings first. I agree, Marcia. I think you can dig up a lot with just one card. It forces you to deeper. :)

Arwen - Yes, please tell us about the history and changes of the ATA. There was a time, before the internet, when Tarot folks sought high and low for common places to gather. ITS, ATA, BATS, and RS filled these spaces for many of us.

I agree with all of you who have expressed the power of a one card reading. I'll be teaching my unique style of this reading in August at BATS (San Francisco).

Grin, Katrina, I was hoping you could tell me about the "good old" days. My experience with the ATA is only about...5 or 6 years old. :

Chrissy, I"m so glad you are enjoying the ATA!

My "good ol" days include John Gilbert, who was a sweet and enthusiastic promoter of all things Tarot.

I enjoyed receiving the Newsletters in the mail, connecting with other Tarot folks at the conferences, and meeting lovely presenters, especially the Ciceros.

When ATA went cyber, I received the regular posts and interesting lessons on Tarot that were sent to everyone. I still have many of them.

That's all I can remember at this time,

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you so much. I would love to survey/interview others who have been around since close to the beginning. I would like to put a timeline/history together for the website so folks could see where we were and where we are. I hope that today's ATA is still living up to what you (each of you) want from it. If it isn't, please email me at president@ata-tarot.com and I will do what I can.
