Tarot for the 21st Century!

My wife just loves this deck. As can be seen from the few selected cards, the scenes are fun, sassy and speak  with immediacy.

I just randomly selected one card from each suit plus a trump.  Suits are labeled: Coins, Cups, Swords and Wands. They come on a pinstriped background and sit on a frame of background color that makes them almost appear to move.
This set came in a tin, and the cards themselves are closer to the size of a playing card deck - very easy to handle and shuffle.  The card backs allow for reversals, as they bear a random pattern of stars on a purple pinstripe background.
The illustrations are just great.  No excess of symbolism and yet every detail has been well-placed.
As the author, Lynyrd Narciso writes "Vanessa Tarot has taken its inspiration from several areas of contemporary pop culture including female role models from the small and large screens of television and cinema, life-like fashion dolls, and heroines from comic books."
Just looking at the eight of wands, what a beautiful opportunity to reference the tv show "Bewitched" in a way that rhymes visually with the RWS 8 of wands.
The Hierophant could well be my favorite card of the set - the symbolism is perfect: the blackboard and classroom convey the main themes of the original Hierophant card but in a way that most people can relate to, plus every guy's dream Sunday school teacher: sitting on top of her desk in a miniskirt and a blouse that is ready to pop open. The LWB says "A Sunday school teacher points the way to piety."
The Vanessa Tarot is obviously inspired. A fresh way to keep daily readings an insights fun and upbeat.
